Lunch Is the Perfect Time for Raw Food

My enthusiasm for being on the move is one of the reasons that Raw Food Made Easy for 1 or 2 People Revised contains so much information on eating well in our 21st Century world.  It’s also the reason I created a video demonstration to show you how to create delicious take-along and make-on-the-spot raw meals and snacks that make eating well super-simple.

I travel a great deal for business, but I also to travel for fun.  One of the biggest challenges for me can be finding a healthy lunch which is why I love to load up a “lunchbox” with all the food and beverages I need to stay well-hydrated and well-fed. 

I love the taste of raw food, but I also know the nutritious raw food that I’m packing will keep me energized all day long and won’t weigh me down.  That means I’ll have the energy to make the most out of every minute.

As I demonstrate, there are tons of easy-to-pack-from-home fresh produce you can enjoy at lunch.  I’ll also talk about items you can purchase that don’t need to be washed and dried before using. 

More and more markets and delis are carrying pre-packaged salad mixes these days, and they’re the perfect beginning to a hearty lunchtime meal. You’ll learn that just three simple tools – a veggie peeler, a small knife, and a flexible chopping mat – are all you need to turn raw veggies into lunch.

In the video, I’ll show you how to combine nuts, seeds, dried fruits, and seasonings that you can sprinkle on lettuce and vegetables to create my nutritious Trail Mix Salad recipe.  It’s sweet, crunchy, delicious, and can be customized to your personal tastes.

You’ll be amazed at how naturally flavorful add-ins can amp up the flavor of any food, raw or otherwise.  My “Top Three” flavor boosters are:

  • Salt
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Salads are my favorite because it allows me to get a great deal of the nutrients in at one meal.  When I get my salad in; I feel that I have accomplished most of the eating battle that most people struggle with.

So true! I think just getting in one big salad per day is half the battle. Add 1 green smoothie or juice per day, and you’re 90% there.
