This frosty shake is sure to satisfy your chocolate ice cream cravings. Maca, a root from the Andes, lends the pleasant, malty taste.

Yield: 1 serving

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1 cup hemp milk
  • 3 tablespoons raw cacao or unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon maca, optional

Equipment

  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • blender
  • rubber spatula

Allow the bananas to thaw for 5 minutes. Break the bananas into two or three pieces and place them in a blender with the remaining ingredients. Process until smooth and creamy. Serve immediately.

I too use maca as a malt powder in shakes. It is good with almond butter added as well.
Thanks for your great recipes!
